Tucson Electric Power filed a rate case with the Arizona Corporation Commission on June 17, 2025 (Docket E-01933A-25-0103) seeking a net $172 million, about 13%, in added retail revenue, built from a $220 million non-fuel increase partly offset by lower fuel and surcharge revenue. The public notice of the case says a typical residential bill at 805 kWh would rise $19.43, or 13.7%, from $141.60 to $161.03; TEP also cited about 14% (about $16 a month) at a median 638 kWh. TEP says it has invested $1.7 billion since 2021 and asks for a 10.5% return on equity and a new annual formula-rate adjustment mechanism; it later trimmed the request, and its July 2026 update puts the median residential increase at 11.6% ($12.92 a month), while the Attorney General's office argues for about 4%. Hearings ended May 12, 2026; an administrative law judge's recommendation and a commission vote are pending, with new rates expected around December 1, 2026.
