Xcel Energy (Public Service Company of Colorado) filed on November 21, 2025 for a $355.6 million electric increase, which would have lifted the average residential bill from $100 to $110 a month (9.9%) to recover three years of infrastructure and clean energy spending. In June 2026 Xcel, commission staff and several groups filed a settlement proposing about $224.9 million, roughly 37% below the request (Colorado PUC newsletter). The PUC approved an increase on August 19, 2026; Denver7 reports the final order cut the original request by 56% and raises residential and commercial bills 4.77%, about $5 more a month for a household.
