Rocky Mountain Power, PacifiCorp's Wyoming utility, asked the Wyoming Public Service Commission on May 12, 2026 for $70.5 million a year, an 8.8% overall increase, in two steps: $68.3 million (8.5%) on March 15, 2027 and a net $2.2 million (0.3%) on April 1, 2027 tied to the sale of its Washington service area. The commission's notice lists an 8.5% total increase for residential customers (Schedule 2). The company cites Wyoming's share of new capital investment, higher net power costs and operating costs ($58.3 million) plus $10 million for a wildfire liability self-insurance reserve, partly offset by a $7.8 million goodwill credit from the Washington sale. The company says a separate fuel-cost filing proposing an average 6% bill decrease from July 1, 2026 would bring the combined residential effect to about 3.9%. The case is pending; the commission scheduled public comment hearings for September 24 and 28, 2026, and the requested first-step effective date is March 15, 2027.
